Test report Salomon Men's Elixir Activ Shoes

Key features

Good cushioning and grippy outsole

Plenty of room in the forefoot for wider feet

Comfortable interior material, no blisters

Ideal for speed hikes on easy terrain

Kilian’s experience

I mainly use the Salomon Elixir Activ for quick hikes after work, or when time is short and the terrain is not too technical. Although the shoe handles mud, technical sections and longer tours well thanks to its grippy sole and solid cushioning, it is best suited for speed hikes on dry, less technical terrain. The shoe offers plenty of room in the forefoot, creating a pleasant feeling of freedom – especially if you have slightly wider feet. The inner lining is comfortable and very smooth at the heel, and I’ve never had blister issues with this shoe. The Elixir is an excellent match for the Bavarian Pre‑Alps and works well for almost all day hikes there, as long as the terrain doesn't get too technical or loose.
