Leki was founded in 1948 by Karl Lenhart in Dettingen/Teck and initially began with the manufacture of plastic parts. The brand was shaped by the visionary spirit of Klaus Lenhart, who worked intensively on improving ski poles made of bamboo in the 1960s. These early efforts led to the introduction of the first Leki ski pole made of aluminum in 1970, which laid the foundation for today's success story. Incidentally, the name "Leki" is the name of the company founder.
